Happy Halloween & Thanksgiving
The Holiday Season is here!! We wanted to wish all of our friends and family a belated Happy Halloween and Happy Thanksgiving, and hope that everyone is doing well as the Christmas Season gets under way!
It was a wonderful first Halloween with Alexander- he was Superman, and Adam & I had a different costume for every event!! We had our ward trunk-or-treat the Wednesday before..Adam was a mad scientist, I was a Med. Student, and Alexander was baby superman. Then at Adam's school on Friday they had a trick or treat around campus, this time Adam was a cowboy, and I was Louis Lane! Finally, on the actual day of Halloween Adam was Superman! It was a fun-filled week. The time seemed to fly by and 'poof' it was Thanksgiving! We were able to spend Thanksgiving with the Dawson Clan and lots of aunts and uncles and cousins! It was wonderful to have so much family together! Adam & I agreed that we are most grateful this season and always for each other, our little angel and our amazing family! We have been so blessed, and the only thing we could ever ask for or want for is more time; I'm not sure where the time goes, but it's going by much too quickly! (Unfortunatly this month, we have had the camera with us everywhere we went, but managed to take almost no pictures in the month of November!)

Alexander at 6 & 7 months!
Today Alexander is 8 months old!! Wow. how the time fly's, we thought it would probably be a good idea to catch up on our blogging..... so here are the updates from his 6 & 7 months. ( By the way there's nothing new with Adam & I, were good happy & healthy, school is going well, first quarter is almost finished! :)
Alexander's 6 month check up went great he's a healthy, happy, smiley baby!!
Weight: 16.13 lbs- 35%
Head: 44.5- 68%
Length: 27in. -67%
As of Nov. 1st he has 4 teeth! He loves to eat, and can chew and eat basically anything you hand him, and Adam is thrilled so far not a picky eater like his mommy.
Our little climber attempts to climb up onto, into or over everything! He learned he can pull himself up, and now does so everywhere imaginable!!

Our little family just enjoying a Sunday afternoon!
Alexander crawling under our bed, and playing peek-a-boo with the sheets! He is a speedy army crawler, and as of Friday Nov. 6th, can officially crawl on his hands and knees, although he prefers to just pull himself up and try to climb...but he definitely loves his new found mobility! (and we're getting a pretty good workout)

We were able to enjoy a weekend away in Mexico with family! The weather could not have been more perfect. Here's Alexander all dressed up for fun in Mexico!

This trip we got to ride jet ski's (it was my first time) and also got to go snorkeling, which was also my first time! It was awesome!! We saw tons of different fish, and a stingray. Also while we were there there was a giant school of fish that was swimming around it stretched out for what seemed like forever--It reminded me of the school of fish from Finding Nemo.

This last month we were also able to spend some quality time with Nana, Aunt Nicole, and cousins Miley & Anya at the Zoo!!!

Scorpions!
Fall is here!! (Yay!! My favorite season) It is finally starting to cool down to temperatures that we can go outside and play in, take long walks, and even open the windows to cool down the house instead of using AC. Fall has always been my favorite season, I love watching the leaves change colors, its the perfect weather, but this year, by far, Adam, Alexander and I are most grateful for fall because it means an end to scorpion season. For those of you who don't know scorpions come out around spring time as it begins to warm up, and are truly out and about through the summer. (they come out when the temp. is above 77 degrees, below that its too cold for them) This year we had a scorpion infestation in our home. Starting on the day Alexander was born 03/09, until the beginning of Oct. we have killed a total of 79 scorpions, almost half of those being in our home and the other half on our property-- in the backyard, on the porch, or in the garage! We have become experts, learning as much as we could to get rid of our problem, hiring a pest control person, and then going out every night with a black light and hunting them. (Scorpions come out at night, and glow brightly under a black light.), and of course praying. We hope we have exterminated these little critters from our home and won't have any problems next year; every home on our little culdesac had a ridiculous amount this year, we think because of the construction going on by our house they migrated over. Adam has become an expert hunter, and isn't even a little afraid of them, I can tell you just about anything you need to know about them, but am still terrified of them. We were definitely blessed, nobody was hurt or stung, and there were even a couple of them that we say God caught for us-- There was one in a bucket and one in a candle jar, that we woke up and they were stuck in there, they couldn't get out, and we don't know how they could have gotten in.

Alexander used the telephone
He can't officially crawl yet... He sais Dadadadadadadada, but Lysa sais it doesn't count yet as his first word, even though it is an obvious testament to how much he loves his dada.... But I tell you he called me on the telephone unassisted this evening!!! Our kid is very advanced. Mommy stepped into the kitchen to get his bottle and left the phone next to him. I had just gotten off the phone with her. Well I answer and hear him grunting and making all sorts of noise. He pushed redial and talk :) Way cute and fun.
I love you Lysa. MUAH!

August 09'
August was a great month packed with lots of family fun before school started back up. We were able to take a vacation to go visit Great Grandparents in St. George, and then Grandparents and aunts up in Denver. It was Alexander's first long car trip (14hr) and he did amazing!!We were able to escape the heat of Az. and have lots of fun visiting with family. In St. George we were able to visit a couple of historic sites, and the lovely St. George temple. Alexander loved hanging out with his Great Aunt Mariann, and his Great Grandparents. While we were there him & Great Grandma had a funny joke that nobody got except for Alexander, she would hold him and he would get all smiley and then just laugh and laugh!! :) We were also able to spend a week in Denver, where we got to go to the park, go hiking up in Colorado Springs, enjoy thunder storms cooler weather and hang out with Papa and Grandma Vavrek, and Aunt Mickey & Aunt Amanda. (I was also able to get Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, which is my favorite soda, unfortunatly you can't find it in AZ anymore) It was great to be able to see everyone, Alexander loved to be there, he especially liked stealing papa's popsicels! At the beginning of August we also were able to visit with some family friends 'The Sinnots' who were visiting from Ireland!(We can't wait to see them again, next time hopefully we can go to their house :) This month ended with Adam starting his 2nd Year of Medical School!! This month also brought The Hunter Family to AZ! We are so excited to have them living close by now!!
